I discovered that I regularly compared my life to others around me, especially my friends, as I entered my twenties and got closer to becoming an adult. They seemed to have more chances and brighter futures than I had, while I felt locked in a never-ending battle and lacked the same degree of enthusiasm and potential.

I struggled with discontentment and often fell into a cycle of self-pity, feeling unhappy with the circumstances I was dealing with. Various lifestyle issues, such as having a higher weight, having a speech disability, and being taller than the average woman, significantly impacted my self-confidence and self-esteem, contributing to periods of depression.

I found myself trapped in a state of depression that was challenging to overcome. The stress of job hunting and socializing, coupled with the additional burden of having a speech impairment, took a heavy toll on my well-being and drained my energy.

At the age of 22, I made a firm decision to transform my life as I could no longer tolerate the ongoing despair. It became clear to me that I needed to let go, develop a clearer mindset, and adopt a more relaxed approach. I recognized the necessity for a completely different strategy and a shift in my way of thinking.

I discovered that excessive worry only complicates matters and that the best approach is to give my all in every situation, regardless of the outcome. The fleeting nature of life serves as a reminder to embrace each day to its fullest as if it were my last.

I shifted my perspective by comparing my life to those I read about in the news or saw on television, rather than comparing it to my friends. Learning about the struggles in third-world countries and the tragedies that occur reminded me of my blessings. Whenever I feel down or depressed, I turn on the news to gain a broader perspective, and it helps me break free from temporary moments of despair.
